Great Checkbook App

I mostly use this for keeping track of my checking and savings accounts. As someone who hates to balance a paper checkbook, I love that I can do it on my Mac and never have to keep a running balance since it does it all for me. I tend to enter a whole year in the of checking transactions with my estimated bills and paychecks. It helps me figure out if I’m going to be over or under budget. I also like that I can sync my accounts between my different Macs. That’s especially helpful when I travel because I mostly pay my bills, etc on my desktop but I can figure out my present finances on the road.

The only glitch I’ve seen (and it has happened twice) is that I’ll run into a date (there’s no rhyme or reason as to why it happens on that day) where anything I enter after that date has the wrong balance as if the internal calculator has gone screwy. For example, if I write a check for $50, it actually adds it to my checking account instead of subtracting it. The two times this has happened I actually had to create another account om CHECKBOOK and start my checking/savings in that new account. As a note, I do not sync my accounts with my bank.

I will continue to use CHECKBOOK for my daily checking and savings account finances.

"Where does all my money go?" A paper cheque register cant categorize your transactions or report cash flow over time, and itll never balance itself. Other finance apps are like me...
